Meet The Adlington Team
Gareth (BSc, BVSc, CertSAS, MRCVS)
Gareth qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 2001 in South Africa and has been working as a small animal Veterinary Surgeon since.
He obtained his certificate in soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery in 2011. His Special interests include soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, internal medicine and oncology.
In his spare time Gareth enjoys spending time with his family and every now and then a round of golf.
Helen (BVSc MRCVS)
Helen studied veterinary science at Pretoria University, South Africa and qualified as a veterinary surgeon on 2001.
She has worked at Adlington Veterinary Centre since it opened in June 2015.
Helen's main interest is internal medicine. Outside of work, Helen enjoys spending time with her family including her much loved animals - Lily the cocker spaniel, Bolt the chihuahua and Suzy the cat.
Born and raised in Southport, Tom graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2013. He lives in Chorley with his wife, Katie. He enjoys real ale, and sometimes brews his own.
Tom enjoys the varied challenges that first opinion work brings. Tom joined the practice in early 2019, and is looking forward to getting to know the clients of Adlington Veterinary Centre and their pets.
Zac (VetMb MRCVS)
Zac graduated from the University of Cambridge in June 2019 and joined the team shortly afterwards. He enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but has a particular interest in internal medicine.
He is a keen runner, regularly out on the fells of Rivington. He also competes for Blackburn Harriers on the track in the summer.
The rest of his time is spent entertaining his miniature schnauzer, Jack, and his rescue cat, Rosa.
Zophia spends most of her time managing the practice and our wonderful team. Keeping everything running smoothly is more than a full time job, and on top of this Zophia is always looking for ways in which we can exceed our clients' expectations.
Most of Zophia's time is spent behind the scenes supporting our team, and complements the veterinary staff. She particularly likes the diversity and challenges that occur daily, and helping owners and their companions.
Outside of work Zophia is just as busy with her three boys, two dogs and cat. Unsurprisingly, the animals are easier to deal with.
Catherine qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2009. She joined Adlington Veterinary Centre in July 2015.
Catherine can often be found making the vets jealous with her trademark breakfast of oat and banana pancakes.
Outside of work, she enjoys exercising, especially with her little whippet, Stan.
